駐美代表金溥聰一家五口1日出席大華府地區僑學界慶祝中華民國103年元旦升旗典禮，數百僑胞不畏接近攝氏零度的低溫，揮舞國旗，高唱愛國歌曲「中華民國頌」、「梅花」等。金溥聰說，這些歌非常好聽，但孩子不太會唱，他回家要開班授課，他歌喉不好，妻子音樂細胞比他好，「我們家一定開訓練班，下一次會表現得比較好」。
