谷歌台灣資料中心 投資達6億美元

（中央社記者吳佳穎彰化2013年12月11日電）Google今天正式宣布位於彰化的台灣資料中心啟用，這不但是Google在亞洲最大的資料中心，投資額也從原本預計的3億美元倍增至6億美元。

11日的落成典禮，包括Google全球資料中心副總裁Joe Kava、Google大中華區總經理石博盟(ScottBeaumont)等人均出席。

Google於2012年4月宣布要在台投資超過3億美元，在彰化縣濱海工業區購地15公頃、興建第1座位於亞洲的資料中心；如今投資額增加至6億美元。

除了台灣，本周Ｇoogle位於新加坡的資料中心也同時開張營運。Ｇoogle新加坡的資料中心於2011年動土，整體投資計畫達1.2億美元。1021211
