日本希望2015年後恢復南極捕鯨

海牙國際法庭3月底裁決要求日本停止在南極海域科研捕鯨，不過日本鯨類研究所並未死心，他們向美國西雅圖聯邦地方法院提交意見書，表示希望在2015年度以後重新開始在南極海域實施科研捕鯨。對於日本的這一反應，反捕鯨團體予以強烈批評。

據報導，日本政府打算修改捕鯨數量，在修改計畫後於2015年度重新實施捕鯨活動。鯨研表示，海牙國際法庭的判決針對的是之前的計畫，重啟捕鯨不違反判決。

鯨研所還要求反捕鯨團體海洋守護者協會，停止干擾日本科研捕鯨在美國提起訴訟。
