通用召回汽車案 國會要查為何拖10年？

通用汽車公司 (GM)召回有致命缺陷小轎車的行動，31日迅速擴大，在全球達到260餘萬輛。今年1月15日才上任的GM女執行長瑪莉‧巴拉(Mary Barra)1日將親自上火線，到國會眾院能源及商業委員會的調查聽證會作證。

事先公布的證詞顯示，她將告訴國會，公司不知道為何拖了10年之久，才召回有問題的車子。由於召回車子的點火開關有缺陷，迄今至少已有13人喪生，預料聽證場面將緊張、火爆。汽車安全管理機構「全國公路交通安全管理署」 (簡稱NHTSA)代理署長費烈德曼 (David Friedman)也將作證，預料他將設法把責任推卸給GM，指稱該公司沒有提供相關資訊。
